The aim of the design team was to embrace the surrounding landscape and, in turn, create a garden which then enhanced the building and its setting.
An arrival court was formed, surrounded by beech hedges and a new timber clad outbuilding. Clipped domes of yew were introduced to bring a unique sense of personality to the garden, as well as a bespoke water feature, its central chute providing gentle sounds, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
The main section of the paving area was lowered and all the stone re-used. Bespoke timber benches, corten steel firepit and outdoor kitchen were constructed, surrounded by planting to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The garden has been lovingly restored, whilst embracing the wider woodland and creating a feeling of privacy, the expert redesign of the upper entertaining areas captures the most incredible viewpoint of landscape beyond.
